Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a season of immense change. While it’s often portrayed as a linear, glowing journey, many women face discomfort, uncertainty or fear along the way. At Calyx, we walk with you through each trimester, offering whole-body physiotherapy care that helps you feel stronger, more comfortable and more in tune with your changing body.

Why Pregnancy Support Matters

Pregnancy care isn’t just about scans and check-ups. It’s about feeling safe in your body as it transforms. As your posture, centre of gravity, joints and organs shift to support your growing baby, your body works hard behind the scenes. Physiotherapy can ease the load, improve mobility, reduce pain and prepare your body for labour and life after birth.

At Calyx, we support:

  • Pelvic and lower back pain during pregnancy
  • Changes in bladder or bowel function
  • Shortness of breath, rib tightness or pelvic pressure
  • Preparation for vaginal or C-section birth

Common Conditions in Pregnancy

Many women experience symptoms they didn’t expect or were told are “just part of being pregnant.” At Calyx, we listen and help you manage them with compassion and science-backed care.

How Calyx Can Support You

Every woman’s pregnancy is different, so is our care. We personalise your plan based on your symptoms, goals, birth preferences, and trimester.

Here’s how we support you across your pregnancy:

  • Relieving pain and tension in the pelvis, back, hips and ribs
  • Improving posture and mobility as your centre of gravity shifts
  • Supporting pelvic floor health to prevent or reduce incontinence and prolapse
  • Enhancing breath mechanics for core control and nervous system regulation
  • Educating for labour preparation—including perineal massage, pushing techniques and optimal positioning
  • Planning for postpartum recovery with gentle return-to-movement strategies

Our approach doesn’t wait until something is “wrong.” We work preventatively, with the belief that informed, supported women can birth and recover better.

👋 Hi, how can I help?
CHLOE NG
Co-founder, Senior Physiotherapist

Chloe is a dedicated women’s health physiotherapist whose personal and professional journey has shaped her compassionate approach to care. Early in her career, she noticed that many women’s health concerns, including incontinence, painful intercourse and fertility challenges, were often dismissed or left unspoken. This sparked her commitment to specialise in pelvic health and provide women with the support they deserve.

She pursued training in pelvic health assessment and management, and integrates Polestar Pilates principles into her practice to restore functional movement, postural alignment, and overall wellbeing.

Her personal decision to go through two unmedicated births reinforced her belief in the power of education, preparation, and informed support during pregnancy and beyond.
