WHAT MAKES CALYX
THE RIGHT CLINIC FOR YOU

We’re more than a clinic. We’re a space where women are seen, heard, and supported through every stage of recovery.

Our physiotherapists have deep expertise and years of experience in core rehabilitation and our team specialises in integrating musculoskeletal and pelvic health physiotherapy to provide holistic and comprehensive care for women.

LIVED EXPERIENCES

We’ve walked through many of the same life stages as our patients. Our care is shaped by both clinical expertise and real-life understanding, so you feel seen, supported and truly understood.

TELEHEALTH, REIMAGINED

We champion telehealth as a regular tool for assessment and treatment, making care accessible for women across locations and life stages

PREVENTIVE CARE

We believe care shouldn’t start only when something goes wrong. At Calyx, we focus on early support, building awareness, strength, and confidence to help prevent issues before they arise.

ADVOCATING FOR WOMEN

Calyx is committed to opening up conversations around taboo women’s health topics and raising awareness so women know what’s normal, what’s not, and where to seek help.

Husbands who step up postpartum: your job is to support mum.

3 practical ways you can help:

🌷After a vaginal birth, episiotomy or tear

Keep a perineal ice pack ready.
(Or keep a few in rotation!)

Pain and swelling are often worst in the first few days. Having an ice pack prepared means she doesn’t need to get up and sort it out when she’s already sore and exhausted.

🌷After a C section

Don’t pull her straight up from bed.

Help her roll onto her side first, bring her legs over the edge of the bed, then support her as she pushes up with her arms. This reduces strain on her healing abdominal muscles and incision.

You can give her a pillow to hold against her wound to support it at the same time too.

🌷During feeds

Before the feed starts, check:
✓ Pillow behind her back
✓ Pillow supporting baby
✓ Water bottle within reach
✓ Phone charger nearby

If she’s leaning forward to feed, help adjust the pillows so baby comes to her, not the other way around.

And most importantly, whether you’re new parents or expanding your family, enjoy your new bundle(s) of joy!

Proactivity is IN, and we started this series so you know how to earn those extra brownie points.

If you’re the wife, you know who to send this to!

🌷 Hip squeezes
Hip squeezes can be a great pain management tool during labour, especially if your wife is planning for an unmedicated birth.

🌷 Perineal massage
You can help your wife with perineal massages and keep her hands free. Better yet, join the session and learn the technique properly with our guidance.

🌷 Keep her hydrated & remind her to pee
An empty bladder can make labour and pushing more comfortable and may help reduce the risk of bladder injury during birth. If your wife has an epidural, remind the nurses to drain her bladder every 2 hours as labour wards can get busy.

🌷 Be the calm one
Labour can feel overwhelming. Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is offer reassurance and be a steady source of support.

We often hear women say:

“I know he’s trying to help, but…”

Actually, many men are already doing a lot and playing their part.

They’re carrying groceries, taking night shifts, looking after the kids, driving to appointments, fixing things around the house, and doing their best to support the people they love.

But sometimes what they’re doing isn’t quite what their partner needs to feel supported.

They’re already trying hard enough, but might just need some insight to what helps.

So this Father’s Day month, we’re creating a short series for the men who want to help.

Practical tips and simple ways to better support the women you love.

First episode drops this Friday.
