Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Treatment in Singapore

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can feel like a confusing and frustrating diagnosis, especially when you’re trying to conceive. At Calyx, we offer physiotherapy-led PCOS support tailored to your body’s hormonal rhythms and fertility journey.

What Is PCOS Treatment?

PCOS treatment at Calyx focuses on gentle, evidence-based physiotherapy to support your metabolic, hormonal, and pelvic health. We take into account your cycle, symptoms, and fertility goals. Treatment may include movement therapy, pelvic floor support, and lifestyle advice to encourage ovulation and hormonal balance.

Is This Safe for Me?

Yes, physiotherapy-led support for PCOS is non-invasive, drug-free and completely tailored to your current health status. We’ll ensure safety at every step, adapting your plan based on cycle phase, hormonal profile and overall well-being.

Who Should Consider PCOS Treatment?

PCOS affects women differently. If you’re struggling with irregular cycles, fertility challenges, or persistent bloating and fatigue, physiotherapy could support your system in regaining rhythm and function.

  • Do I Need a Referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us. If needed, we’re happy to coordinate care with your OBGYN or GP.

  • Should I see a physiotherapist if I'm not trying to get pregnant?

Yes. Physiotherapy for PCOS supports more than just fertility. It can help manage symptoms like fatigue, bloating, weight changes and irregular cycles.

Symptoms and Signs You May Benefit from PCOS Treatment

Common signs include:

  • Irregular or Absent Periods
  • Pelvic Pain or Discomfort
  • Bloating and Digestive Issues
  • Difficulty Losing Weight
  • Low Mood, Fatigue or Brain Fog

These symptoms may be linked to hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, or pelvic floor dysfunction commonly seen in PCOS.

What Happens During Your Session

Each session is fully personalised and may include a cycle review, pelvic assessment, breathing techniques, guided exercise or coaching around sleep, stress and activity habits.

  • Will There Be an Internal Vaginal Assessment?

It depends on your symptoms. Internal vaginal assessments are only done with your consent and only when clinically relevant.

  • Do I Need to Prepare or Bring Anything?

Come in comfortable clothing. Bring any recent blood work or medical reports related to your diagnosis if available.

  • What Happens After the Session?

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your body and practical steps to take at home. We often provide custom exercise plans and lifestyle guidance.

Techniques and Tools We May Use

  • Diaphragmatic breathing and pelvic alignment techniques
  • Myofascial release and soft tissue therapy
  • Exercise prescription tailored to hormonal phases
  • Movement re-education
  • Cycle tracking and awareness tools
  • Is It Painful or Uncomfortable?

Sessions are designed to be supportive and comfortable. If we use hands-on techniques, they are gentle and guided by your consent at every stage.

  • How We Ensure Safety in Each Method

We continuously monitor your feedback and adapt techniques. Your comfort, safety, and emotional wellbeing are always prioritised.

Your Progress and Results Over Time

  • How Soon Will I See Improvement?

Most clients notice improvements in energy, mood or pain within 2 to 4 sessions. Hormonal regulation and cycle improvements can take longer but are absolutely achievable.

  • How Often Will I Need Sessions?

Initially, treatment involves weekly or fortnightly sessions to build momentum and address symptoms effectively.

As your body gains rhythm and you become more confident with self-management strategies, sessions will be spaced out gradually based on your progress. The frequency may vary depending on the severity of your symptoms and how your body responds to treatment.

  • Will I Need Maintenance Visits?

Our goal is to help you feel confident managing your symptoms independently. Because PCOS is a chronic condition, some women find occasional check-ins helpful, especially during conception or postpartum periods,

  • What Do I Need to Do at Home?

You’ll be guided through breathing techniques, light exercise, cycle journaling, and simple anti-inflammatory lifestyle tips to help manage your symptoms and feel more in tune with your body.

At Calyx, we bring deep clinical knowledge and emotional sensitivity to every session. We know PCOS is not just a hormonal condition, but a whole-person experience. We meet you where you are and support your next step forward.

OLIVIA LEE
Birth and Postpartum Doula & Childbirth Educator

Olivia is a birth and postpartum doula and a childbirth educator. After welcoming two daughters of her own, she discovered how transformative continuous support, trusted information, and compassionate care can be during pregnancy and birth. That experience inspired her to walk alongside other families as they prepare for one of life’s most meaningful transitions.

She believes birth is more than something to prepare for. With the right knowledge, support, and mindset, it can also be something families look forward to and even enjoy. While every birth unfolds differently, Olivia’s approach is centred on helping parents understand what to expect, explore their options, and prepare both practically and emotionally for the journey ahead. Rather than striving for the “perfect” birth, she hopes every family feels safe, respected, and supported enough to embrace whatever path their birth takes with confidence, flexibility, and grace.

Whether supporting a first-time mother or a growing family, Olivia’s goal is for parents to look back on their birth feeling heard, cared for, and proud of the way they welcomed their baby into the world.

DR. ESTHER LIM
Senior Physiotherapist

Dr. Esther Lim is a pelvic health and musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over a decade of experience across institutions in the United States and Singapore, including NewYork-Presbyterian, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

She works with women preparing for and recovering from birth, and those navigating complex pelvic pain, vaginismus, cancer care, post-prostatectomy rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal conditions.

Esther believes good care starts with the right questions. She tries to stay curious, listen well, and understand what is really going on before jumping to solutions. In practice, this means hands-on therapy, movement retraining, and Pilates-based rehabilitation, but more than anything, it means making sure each person feels genuinely heard and supported.
