Wrist Pain Treatment in Singapore

Wrist pain from daily tasks or baby care can limit your life. At Calyx, we offer gentle, personalised physiotherapy to restore strength and mobility. Ideal for non-surgical care, we collaborate closely with your medical team when needed.

What Is Wrist Pain Treatment?

Treatment targets inflammation, tension or injury in your wrist joint, tendons or muscles. Using manual therapy, electrophysical agents, movement retraining and ergonomic advice, we reduce pain, improve strength, and help prevent recurrence.

Is This Safe for Me?

Yes. Treatment is tailored to your health, whether pregnant, postpartum, managing chronic pain or recovering from injury. All treatment modalities used are based on current evidence.

Who Should Consider Wrist Pain Treatment?

If wrist pain is interfering with your daily life, whether from holding your baby or typing at work, a physiotherapy-led approach may be ideal. We support women of all life stages, especially those navigating hormonal or postural shifts that affect joint health. • Do I Need a Referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us online or over the phone. If required, we’ll liaise with your GP or specialist.

  • Is This Suitable Before or After Childbirth? Or Both?

Both. Wrist pain can occur before and after childbirth. It can also happen during other life stages like perimenopause or due to injury. Changes such as fluid retention, hormone-related laxity, and/or repetitive tasks affect joint health. We tailor care to your current phase for safe and effective relief.

Symptoms and Signs You May Benefit from Wrist Pain Treatment

Common signs include:

  • Tingling or numbness in fingers or wrist
  • Aching or sharp wrist pain during use
  • Difficulty gripping or lifting
  • Swelling or stiffness
  • Pain worsening with repetitive hand motions

These symptoms often point to nerve irritation, tendon inflammation, or joint strain. Early treatment can improve function, reduce pain, and prevent worsening from repetitive activities or hormonal changes. Addressing these signs helps you regain strength and confidence in daily tasks.

What Happens During Your Session

At Calyx, each session is tailored to you. We start by listening to your story, then perform a hands-on assessment to understand your movement, identify the root cause, and set goals. From there, we provide gentle treatment and guidance to help you feel better and regain function.

  • Will There Be an Internal Assessment?

No, wrist pain treatment does not require internal assessments. All evaluation and treatment are external and focused on the upper limb and postural alignment.

  • Do I Need to Prepare or Bring Anything?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the arms and shoulders. If you use any supportive braces or have previous imaging results, do bring them along.

  • What Happens After the Session?

You will be guided through tailored wrist mobility and strength exercises, ergonomic tips for daily tasks, and follow-up sessions if needed to support healing.

Techniques and Tools We May Use

  • Joint mobilisation and soft tissue release
  • Therapeutic ultrasound
  • Dry needling
  • Wrist stability and proprioception training
  • Kinesiotaping
  • Ergonomic correction strategies
  • Is It Painful or Uncomfortable?

Most patients find sessions gentle and relieving. You may feel slight pressure during soft tissue release or joint mobilisation, but it should never be painful.

  • How We Ensure Safety in Each Method

We always begin with a safety screen and adapt methods to suit your comfort level.

Your Progress and Results Over Time

  • How Soon Will I See Improvement?

Many women feel improvement within 1 to 3 sessions, particularly in pain levels and ease of movement. Complex or long-standing cases may take longer.

  • How Often Will I Need Sessions?

We usually recommend 1 session per week for the first 2–3 weeks, then space out appointments as you improve.

  • Will I Need Maintenance Visits?

After recovery, we offer preventive care through one-to-one sessions or our Recalibrate By Calyx programme to evaluate whole body movement and habits and optimise posture, movement, and strength for sustainable relief.

  • What Do I Need to Do at Home?

We’ll teach you home exercises for strength, stretching, and daily wrist care. These play a vital role in long-term results and recurrence prevention.

CHLOE NG
Co-founder, Senior Physiotherapist

Chloe is a dedicated women’s health physiotherapist whose personal and professional journey has shaped her compassionate approach to care. Early in her career, she noticed that many women’s health concerns, including incontinence, painful intercourse and fertility challenges, were often dismissed or left unspoken. This sparked her commitment to specialise in pelvic health and provide women with the support they deserve.

She pursued training in pelvic health assessment and management, and integrates Polestar Pilates principles into her practice to restore functional movement, postural alignment, and overall wellbeing.

Her personal decision to go through two unmedicated births reinforced her belief in the power of education, preparation, and informed support during pregnancy and beyond.
